By the end of the day when the temperature around most of the country drops below ZEREX, the SUPE will be on!
It’s the Final 4 of the NFL, but at least we don’t get to hear Jim Nance lead into “one shining moment” on CBS Sunday Night.
NFC championship game kicks at 3:05 inside the Superdome where the temp will be cozy, but the fake grass will still be hazardous to players lower extremities. Rematch of a regular season shootout and both high powered team go in a lot more subdued than earlier season offensive fireworks by both squads. Drew Brees hasn’t been putting up huge numbers and neither has Jared Goff since December. Goff has only 6 td passes in his last 6 games and 4 of those came in one game. Saints controlled the average Eagles run attack last week, but the Rams pose a much bigger challenge with super sub CJ Anderson and whatever they can get from Todd Gurley. Brees has legit runners, but Michael Thomas is his meal ticket. HArd to pick against the Rams, but Brees and the Saints in heaven seem to have been looking down on New Orleans all season and .
In the AFC title tilt, it’ll be dark and frigid in the final NFL game left on the schedule in Kansas City at 6:40 eastern(not counting the bogus Pro Bowl next weekend in Orlando) Both teams play mostly outdoors and in the cold, so that shouldn’t favor either squad. The numbers are many in breaking the Chiefs and Pats down. Tom Brady has been the favorite in 67 straight games, but is an underdog for only the 2nd time in 12 years. His last AFC title win on the road was in 2004, and he is 0-2 in road AFC title games during the Patriots amazing run of 8 straight championship game appearances. Chiefs have averaged 26 or more pts in every game this season and have the magical youngster Patrick Mahomes slinging the rock. Will his cinderella clock strike midnight against the master Brady, or can Andy Reid get a team back to the SB for the first time since 2005 when his Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Pats in SuperBowl 39 in Jacksonville 24-21.
Hard to go against Brady and Bill, but the Chiefs know the only way to stop him is pressure. I predict a KC Masterpiece as they win and cover the 3. Andy Reid, not Belichick who will utter “we’re on to Atlanta!”
See Ya’ll at SB LII in the ATL…
